University of Zagreb – Faculty of Geodesy

https://www.geof.unizg.hr

The Faculty of Geodesy (GF) at the University of Zagreb is the only Croatian institution providing high education in geodesy and geoinformatics and the largest faculty in this domain in south-eastern Europe. GF has 105 employees, of which about half are in scientific-teaching and scientific titles. GF performs study programs in geodesy and geoinformatics at all levels (undergraduate, graduate, specialist and postgraduate). GF is the holder or partner in many scientific research and professional projects and strongly encourages and participates in projects with industrial partners from applying new technologies and technology transfers and professions. Most of the projects in which GF participates are financed by the European Commission (currently 2 Horizon2020 projects and several ESF projects, Interreg, etc.), but it also participates in national projects such as projects of the Croatian Science Foundation. On average, 40 scientific papers indexed in the WoSCC database, about half in Q1. The Chair of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing, which is the proposer of this project proposal, is the holder of research in developing advanced remote sensing and photogrammetry in Croatia.

University of Zagreb – Faculty of Civil Engineering

https://www.grad.unizg.hr

The Faculty of Civil Engineering (FCE) of the University of Zagreb is the oldest civil engineering faculty in Croatia, which continually develops and advances higher education, scientific research activities and actively participates in the development of the profession and the implementation of new technologies. It has extensive experience working on research, educational and networking projects (ERASMUS, HORIZON 2020, Marie Curie Innovative Training Networks, EU Regional Development Fund, etc.) For many years, the experts from FCE have been a part of many regional and international scientific projects, conferences, and workshops on earthquakes, and they were authors of many papers in regional and international academic and scientific journals. FCE made the seismic risk assessment for the City of Zagreb and Republic of Croatia and is included in the civil protection mechanism MUSAR teams. Within the faculty, there is a Croatian Centre for Earthquake Engineering that is actively engaged in many activities due to earthquake and seismic risk assessment like organising a system for inspecting damaged buildings and leading a crisis headquarters, developing a database of structural damages for buildings, publishing manuals about seismic assessment.
